Brainspotting

When talking about it isn't enough.

Sometimes you understand what happened. You know your patterns. You’ve done the self-help, listened to the podcasts, and maybe even spent years in therapy—but you still feel stuck.

Brainspotting is a body-based therapy approach that helps you process experiences that may feel difficult to resolve through talking alone.

During a Brainspotting session, we use your visual field to identify a “brainspot” connected to a particular emotion, memory, or body sensation. From there, you’re invited to slow down, notice what comes up, and allow your brain and body to process without having to force anything.

Brainspotting may be helpful for:

  • Trauma and sexual abuse

  • Childhood and relational trauma

  • Anxiety and overwhelm

  • Grief and loss

  • Shame and self-worth

  • Feeling disconnected from your body

  • Emotional patterns that feel difficult to change

  • Experiences you understand intellectually but still feel physically or emotionally

You don't have to have the right words. You don't have to retell every detail of what happened. You get to go at your own pace, with your body and nervous system included in the process.

Brainspotting can be integrated with other trauma-informed approaches based on what feels supportive and appropriate for you.
